Default getting towed...won't start

so unfortunately my truck won't start and I have no clue as to why. It ran fine the night I parked it and the next morning it started but ran rough so I shut it off thinking it might reset itself and start up again and run fine. That wasn't the case. It won't fire at all. So after thinking of possibilities that it might be I've decided to have it towed (not yet though) to a mechanic who has diagnostic computers. So my question is, while it is being towed, (i'm guessing its gonna be the traditional pull it with the front off the ground while the rear tires are left on the ground) is it a good idea to put the transfer case in nuetral as well as the gear selector in nuetral? or just having the gear selector in nuetral good enough? I've heard that just having the gear selector in neutral while being towed can actually hurt the tranny. But I don't know, hopefully many of you will. Thanks in advance.

P.S. any thoughts on why it might not start? its a 1995 5.9L V8 Magnum

if it in N it should be fine but if you are going to have the drive wheels on the ground take out the drive shaft or u will screw up the trans and these trans dont need that!

when was the last time you had a tune-up? When was the last time you changed the plugs, wires, distr, cap? Are you out of gas? Did someone pt a potato in your tailpipe?

Oxygen, Ignetion, Fuel... check these three first

haha the potato in the tailpipe remark was pretty funny. but no theres no potatoes in my tail pipes...they'd have to be pretty big potatoes to plug up my exhuast tips. I haven't had a tune up on it. thats kinda funny cause i was thinking it was about time i did get a tune up for it a few days ago. and yes its got about 30 gallons of gas in it so i think thats plenty haha

well good news. the not starting issue with my truck turned out to be something simple like a fuel pump relay.

I wish mine was as easy as a fuel pump relay... Wait, did it still start out?!?!? and just run rough is all??? or did it just stop running in general altogether??

Thumbs up Glad I checked in here.

My ol' lady's truck just died. ('99 1500 4x4, 5.2 w/ 197k on it) It was running crappy, did the tune up; replaced all from the coil to the plugs. Ran good for a week then died again. didn't think of it right away but I don't recall hearing the fuel pump kicking in when the key is turned. I'll check that relay tonight. Thanks.
