Default tire wear help

I have a 2001 ram quad 4x4 and the factory goodyear tires lasted 29,000 miles.
I then bought dunlop radial rovers and they now are short on tread life and I
have about 22,000 miles on them. I rotated and had alignments done.
has anyone ever had problems with tread wear and can help?
I drive mostly on road in the city and highway with some off road.

I WAS TOLD TO REBALANCE WHEN YOU ROTATE THE TIRES OR 5,OO0 MILES.

ACORDING TO THIS GUY, THIS CAN AFECT TIRE WEAR.

I HAVENT JUMPED TO YET, MABY NEXT OIL CHANGE.

Default RE: tire wear help

Hey ram4ever, I had replaced my tires with Dunlap Radial Rovers and they lasted only 28,000 and I rotated and balanced every 6,000. I now have Toyo all terrain tires and have not had any problems with them but it is to early to tell as I only have put about 3,000 miles on them. Also, the more "off road" the tread is, the faster they wear out on the pavement.

Hope this helps.

Well, I took pics of the dunlap tires and had the milage documented because I am going to try and turn mine in under warrenty. Also, when I had the Toyo tires put on, I asked for my old tires back and they are now sitting in my garage.

Tier wear on the ram seems to be a common problem or with pick up trucks.
Is their a reason what makes tires wear faster than expected when you rotate
and check alignment and tire pressures?
And the bf goodrich all terrains seem to be the most common tires that ram
owners put on, how do they wear driving on mostly road surfaces?
