No, it will not bolt up.

The diesel engines use a 47RE (96+) or 47RH (94-95). Your 318 and my 360 use a 46RE. Even if it did bolt up (which, like I said, it won't), not sure what the hydraulic to electronic (RH to RE) would entail.

Nope, it won't. You need a 96 or later 46RE tranny. 318 & 360 use them.

You could rebuild it yourself for about 350 including a new torque converter if you have patience and a clean work area.

well the 800 dollar trans is a remanufactured one. so it should work just fine. and it has some what of a warrenty

how can i do it for like 350 myself? i mean i have a clean work area, and just about every tool i need, and presses but i have never done that before and it seems like something i would messup,

im not to worried about a total rebuild at that, i just would like to replace the low-reverse band in the trans, if hat ould work, or a total rebuild would be a must.

hey there monte, can you give me a quick little 30 sec rundown on wht all goes into a trans rebuild and if i would be capabable of doing this?

30 second rundown? Building a transmission isnt like an oil change.
