Which HID?
I don't feel like I was ripped off. That's what you expect to pay for a quality set of HID ballasts and bulbs, at least over $100. $298 for headlight and foglights HIDs does not seem unreasonable to me. I didn't want to buy them off eBay either. I wanted to go through a site, and have it on record incase anything went wrong. My HIDs don't appear to glare or distract me anymore than somebody with ultra bright halogens. I've had my brother drive towards me and it does not affect me eyes.
Also: "You will not loose your high beams!" Come on. "Loose" my high beams?
And they do glare. Those of us who have them in our truck's have already said they do. Your truck is not magically different. Either you have very dull eyes, or just don't want to admit it.
OP, go with the DDM 35 Watt Bi Xenon kit in your high beams. 35 watt is far more then enough for headlights. Aim your drivers side right and down, pass side down, and you'll be fine.
For fog lights, other bases will fit. In my Ranger 9005 Bulbs fit the 887? socket. Try searching around for what alternate bases will fit in there.
Truth be told, you dont want HID's in your fogs though. Completley defeats the purpose of that type of lamp. Really, you want a Selective yellow Halogen bulb. Hella makes some great ones.

thanks viper, i hear what your saying about the fog lamps, but to be completely honest, im going for looks more than functionality.... i know, i fail. I can remember the last time i used my fog lamps for their intended purpose, lol
Well hey, they really are just small driving lights anyways. If you aimed them up and toggled them on and off only when other cars aren't around you'll be fine.
They would supplement your high beams nicely.

The HIDs in my truck don't glare anymore than any other headlight I see on the road with HIDs in their stock housing...the ram doesn't seem to glare anymore than the next vehicle.
And yes, I bought the kit that was meant for the fog lights in our trucks, the 896s I believe, and they do fit, and do not melt the lenses.
I agree, I wouldn't want mismatched lights. I like the look of my lights in unison too. Even with just my HID fog lights on, I could easily see down the dark roads without the headlights even on. The fog lights HIDs will put out a lot of light.

lololololololol
Glare on glarezilla.
How is that a contradiction?
My 2001 Dodge Ram sport model pickup truck, that did not come equipped stock with HIDs, glares no more than any other truck I've seen on the roads with HIDs, that also did not come equipped stock with HID lights.

It's a contradiction because you are contradicting yourself.
Your truck glares no more than any other truck that did not come with HID's..
So what you are saying is that it glares, Badly.
I didnt know you have a sport though, that makes the glare factor worse tenfold. Clear headlamps + non projector HID's = failsauce.
