Advice on gear, part upgrades after lift/tires

So I got the 35s mounted and balanced today. They fit PERFECTLY in the wheel wells! I will try and get some pictures up soon. But, I am of course having some trouble with the tires rubbing on an arm or something in the front...Only when the wheel is cut ALL the way to one side. The tires are - 35"x12.5"x16" BFGoodrich Mud Terrains. The front two are brand new so have some beefy tread... but I don't think that should matter. What can I do to prevent this rub, and what exactly is it rubbing on?

to find what it's rubbing on just look for the shiny spot on your whatever! =)

I got 35"x12.5"x20" They rub the same as yours when im at full turn. I just learned how to drive with them. took me about an hour to know what i can and cant do.

Mine rub the plastic when i turn and have to go up a driveway or something but no big deal but i have not heard them hit the arm or whatever in probably four or five months.

Are you using the stock rims? Big tires on stock rims I think can rub the suspension because there is no offset. Aftermarket rims usually have several inches of offset that wont allow that big of a tire to run anything...............nevertheless is could be just rubbing the plastic fender well.

look at your lower control arm, in the center of the bottom lip, you will see it polishing from the tire rubbing it. Like shawngrace5 said, youll need a wheel with more negative offset or less backspacing (they mean pretty much the same thing). there may be aftermarket control arms that stay away from the tires out there, its worth some research.

Yeah they are stock dodge ram rims... And, Yeah I understand that part about the offset. And, I now know what it is rubbing on, I just had someone cut the wheel all the way, I thought it might be rubbing on a control arm but it turns out. It the the rear side of the front tires on the inside that are rubbing. So the Inside on the rear end of the tires is whats hitting... They are rubbing on what is part of the frame. I don't know exactly what it is called but it is part of the frame but lower than the rest of the frame. Attached to the front axle with bushings. And, it is only is the wheelis cut ALLLLL the way. I would have to have a MUCH bigger lift to clear what its rubbing on. So I am guessing I just need to get some aftermarket wheels with some offsetting. Let me know what you guys think, and if you know what this part of the frame is called.

Yeah, I like I said I thought it was the front side of the tires rubbing, but found out later it was the rear. There is no fender, rubber or wheel well anywhere near the tires fortunately. This is actually my first truck, so a lot of the parts are the same but different at the same time to me. And, working on a 1986 caprice classic was mostly work on the 355, haha so thank you all for being patient with me about this.

i have 35's and they rub like crazy when i turn sharp enough..so instead of spending a ton of money on aftermarket rims or control arms, i just adapted to it.

Yeah, just sucks to not be able to make U turns anymore :P

I have already gotten used to it, they have only rubbed twice and it is very unpleasant so I don't let it happen anymore... Adapting to it too. Rims with backspacing or WIDE turns haha...

That there part that is connecting the axle to the frame IS the control arm. And yes, you could lift the truck several more feet and it would still rub on the control arm. You either need wheels with less backspacing or smaller tires to stop the rubbing (or, like helms said, find some different style control arms with some type of bend... but I haven't seen any before).
