Advice on gear, part upgrades after lift/tires
That there part that is connecting the axle to the frame IS the control arm. And yes, you could lift the truck several more feet and it would still rub on the control arm. You either need wheels with less backspacing or smaller tires to stop the rubbing (or, like helms said, find some different style control arms with some type of bend... but I haven't seen any before).
some of the drive-thru's in my town are pretty tight so i end up doing 2 point turns since i can't turn sharp enough lol...it's a pain in the *** just to get a coffee
Tim Hortons FTW
Haha yeah, I know what you mean. Driving through my parking garage is fun too! Oh well. I'll get some wheels eventually. Anyway have a good site for wheels?
Actually, those wheels have nothing to do with the sport package, its the wheel they offered on the "off road" package. But yes, they do match your truck perfectly
I love that color! You sure don't see it with the sport package that often.
Madmax do you have different control arms, or something because your tires are the same width as mine or do you have rubbing as well?
rims with 4.53 backspacing will cure your rub. thats what i have. i think the stock rims have something like 5.85 backspacing.
i went from 33's to 35's and could notice a immediate difference in braking and acceleration. i will be going to 4.56's some time.
my tire and rim combo weigh like 98lbs.

Not any lower than 3.73. Well, it can be done with that carrier, but "thick" gears will need to be purchased. Not really sure on what that is, but I have done tons of research and that is what I have read up on.
So basically, to go lower than 3.73 gears you either need to buy a new carrier (at $125) or buy thick gears.
