brakes (pads,rotors,drums???)
#12
I run Mopar OEM rotors on mine and some of the expensive Raybestos pads. I think they were $102 after tax and all for the pads. They aren't the cheaper ones.
They work okay. For some reason my truck wants to eat pads quickly. Seems like I get about 20k a set if that.
I wanted to try out some Hawk pads but I had a lot of problems with Summit getting me the correct pads. I got the wrong ones first as that's what they told me I needed not the ones I wanted to order. So I listened to them and turns out they were wrong and I should have got the ones I originally wanted. They agreed to send me another set of the correct ones overnight for free. Well, turns out they accidentally shipped them ground instead. I needed them that day so I went to Fishers Auto Parts and got the nice Raybestos. I kept the Hawks though as I plan to try them next time unless I end up getting ceramic pads.
I've tried cheaper Raybestos and they didn't last soo long but worked fine. Then I put OEM pads on and they seemed to last better however, I took them off to grease up the calipers as they were squeeking and noticed the OEM pads had cracks all in them so I figured I better go ahead and replace them so I did and that's when I put these on there which I have now.
I kind of wish I had gotten ceramic. I was worried they wouldn't hold up on a truck and the auto parts store seemed concerned about that too so I didn't get them. I've since talked to mechanics that said they think they would have been fine. I hate having to clean the brake dust soo often.
In the rear I run Raybestos shoes. I had them put on around the time I put the first set of cheaper Raybestos Pads on. By cheaper I mean like $60. Still not super cheap. They still have life left so I've just kept using them. They seem to work fine. Not sure what I will go with on the rear next.
