Talking New Purchase!!

Well I finally did it. Called up PATC and ordered a Mega Viper Transmission. I'm actually really
excited to have finally pulled the trigger on replacing my tranny. I ended up spending $450
more than I expected but I think I will be happy with it. The extra money came from adding
a billet 1600 stall torque converter, a cooler with fan, and a temp sensor for the fan. I can't
wait for this thing to come in, my transmission is slipping bad.

Did you find the key to Fort Knox or something??

Haha it seems like you have been doing a lot to your truck lately. Kenne Bell, Bumper, now the tranny....

Nice buy. Their site is amazing.

LOL not really. Supercharger came from some back pay, and I got it for $1200! I couldn't
believe that deal. The bumper came from money that was owed me for that accident last
fall, I actually spent less on the material and winch than it was to replace my bumper and
brush guard (pretty sweet i thought :-). I did have to take out a $3500 addition to my truck
loan for the tranny though, but she really needed it and I love this truck.
After I get the transmission installed I'm going to get it dyno tuned and go eat the first hemi
I find :-D

So how much did a PATC transmission run you? What kind of stuff does it have?

Hey, I just wanted to ask before it's too late...
Isn't a 1,600rpm stall a little on the low side for the TC? If you haven't already, you may want to ask somebody who knows what the best stall speed would be for you setup. I have a 2,500 stall for mine, and it seems to be well suited for it. I realize my truck is different, but even as a stock truck, I think 1,600 is too low, but I'm no expert. I would HATE for you to spend the time and money for this and be disappointed with the performance. You may want to double check with one of the gurus on here before it's too late to change, unless you've already done the research and really want this low of a stall speed.

I wondered that myself but didn't say anything. Usually I hear of people upping the stall speed not lowering it. Isn't the stock stall speed 1800rpm? I know my one from APS is 2400rpm and I like it just fine. Is there a reason why you want it so low? If not you might want to check with them or someone else and see what they think as that really sounds low to me. It's lower than stock.

Thanks for the concern guys, it is appriciated. I'm going with a 1600 because I'm running
6psi of boost out of my supercharger that peaks at 2000 rpm. Actually with the amount of
torque I'm putting out it will be a little higher stall than 1600. This will give me a strong
response when I hit the throttle.

dodgeram07: The race has been off for a bit. My truck hasn't been where I need it and
she kinda punked out, didn't think I was actually serious.

hometheaterman: Transmission with an optional billet converter, aux cooler with fan,
180* fan sensor, and shipping all came to $3400. $400 more than I wanted to spend but
I think the money was worth the upgrades. Here is a link to PATC......

I have the Mega Viper

I'm going to put it in my sig, but if any of you are interested in whats in my truck I have
the items listed in 'My Garage'
