throttle valve (tv) replace?

My first dodge 1500 quad 4x4 5.2l...1999 with 106,000
My TV cable is broken at the throttle body. The plastic attatchment piece broke as i tried to remove it in order to clean the IAC.
I called the dealer and he wants 75 for a cable, however all the truck yards tell me they have dodges with 5.9l and to 'come take a look'.
Is it worth the effort to try and find an exact cable at a yard? Does is need to be the exact 5.2 year, make and model?
How difficult is the cable to replace? I looked under at the tansmission and already it looked like a pain....

not positive but they should all be the same at least on the tb side, not too sure about the transmission end......i changed one out on a camaro with a 700r4 and it was only a pain b/c of ground clearance on your truck it shouldnt be too bad.....i would wait for others to chime in on if theyre the same or not....for that camaro there were 2 dif lengths for the dif trannies
