Are you sure you need a rebuild?

What symptoms are you experiencing?

This snap ring you found may just be one from the oil pump on near the "bell housing" part of the trans. It still has to be dropped to check it though.

However, if you do want to do a rebuild then there are a few different brand kits out there that you can buy. MonteC would be the best to consult on this one. He is a trans tech.

While it is out though, I would definently install a shift kit. I know that MonteC and others recommend Sonnex brand parts. I just went the cheap/easy way and put in a Transgo TFOD JR shift kit. It was only about $20 and it wasn't very difficult to install. It isn't the best out there, it will just give you a slightly firmer shift. Transgo also makes the HD-2 kit that is much more heavy duty.

I think master tech replied to your other thread. That snap ring is for the Overdrive Direct Clutch. Very common.

I would recommend using a sonnax sure cure kit when rebuilding. The basic stuff you are going to need is an overhaul kit (paper/rubber). Clutch kit. And mostly likely some bushings. And of course a new snap ring.

I dont know if im supposed to say this or not but i work for/with a transmission parts store.
