about how much are we looking to spend on a round filter and everything needed to put it on?

It can be done for less the $40 with the cheap 14x3 assemblys you can buy at about any auto parts store plus a stand alone breather and and s-bolt. The Mopar setup I run (see pic) was about $90 for all the same stuff, just looks a little better I think.

I seen the diy on this but I'm still kinda confused about what parts I need can some one help me I understand the S bolt and the filter but what exactly is a breather? and the hose that comes out of my block what do I do with that?

you put the breather where the tube comes off of your valve cover


on silver dodge's 2nd pic you can barely see it at the back

The stand-alone breather replaces the hose that goes into the valve cover (not the PCV, the other valve cover). Hose out of your block???????

Yeah you guys got me , didnt mean to say more air , but that ended up coming out...... oh well. the top hat airfilter i had happened to be the same size as the throat of the throttlebody. I would have attached it using a S bolt but the K*N i had, the mounting bolt broke so i used the hose clamp that came off the stock air filter housing. For my Air breather , i bought a Spectra Filter Breather and its been working GREAT!

so how does the filter fit on there? just that bolt in the center or is there a gasket of some kind that fits on the throttle body?

yes yes I have but its not the best thing in the world either. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch I can do somethings but theres alot that I don't know. theres alot of stuff that thread leaves out or doesn't clarify.
