Yeah, if you do an ebay search you will find literally hundreds to thousands of "intake mods +20hp". So you think you get a great deal and spend 10 bucks and a week later you get an envelope with a resistor in it that you plug into your IAT connector. If you really want to go that route, I would find out the resitance needed and go to Radio Shack and get it for .50c and save a bunch of money.
I bought this once for my '92 Cavalier I used to have. I didn't notice anything with it. Grant you it could be the 2.2L engine, the 170k miles or the fact that the car was a POS, but hey, I was 16 and it sounded like a good thing at the time.

I'm sure that to an extent it "works". By that I mean that it probably does what it says and bypasses your sensor and replaces it with a resistor that is the equivalent to a colder temperature. However, I don't think that our trucks breathing in slightly cooler air will give you a 10RWHP gain like it says. The only difference I see on this from the ebay things is that it might be capable of reading your sensor and then adjusting it down 20 degrees for any temp rather than setting it to a constant resistor and a single temp. Either way, do what you wish, I think you'll be disappointed in the end and pissed you wasted $55.
Thats just my $0.02. Take it with a grain of salt I guess!
