I know what I want to do
Wow, pretty overwhelming day today. I received a barrage of phone calls in regards to my 285s from local people. It got down to the point where a guy wants to buy them right now. I really hadn't expected people to bite so fast on my used to tires, but he wants them this week. I told him I'd have to order my new tires because the 285s are on my truck right now. I was able to get in touch with an offroad shop that can get the tires I want by Friday morning. They are going to put the new tires on Friday morning so I can bring the 285s up to the buyer. I told the shop I couldn't afford the mickey thompsons until the buyer gives me the $400 for my 285s. They were suprisingly understanding and did the order for me anyways. So I am going to leave the truck there till monday because I need my next paycheck before I can afford it all. Just came at me so fast. I had an idea I wasn't going to get any takers on the tires and that I'd have to wait for my tax returns.
I ended up buying 33/12.5/17 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Radial Pluses. They have white wall lettering, and are supposed to ride very smooth down the highway. It's just crazy that I'm actually doing this. If I want these tires now was the time though. My 285s are still relatively new, so it's the time to sell them. So I should theoretically have the truck back in my possession monday with the wide tires on....hopefully this guy doesn't screw me over because I will be screwed big time lol.

So today I went down to the offroad shop to pick up my 285s so I could sell them. Got down there and saw my truck and it looked great. These trucks are just so big though, it makes a 305 look natural. I'm so happy I decided to do this, it looks big, but it doesn't strike you as giant. I'm just very pleased with the looks. I look at my truck and it doesn't look so thin, it has that nice wide stance I wanted so badly. Sadly I can't take the truck till monday though, I have to wait for my next paycheck. I can't wait to take some pictures for you guys. Btw, the mickey thompson atz tread just looks awesome. I feel very happy that I finally just went ahead and did it, even more so happy because the tires don't even look out of place. Next up is that 1.5" spacer for the front, and then hopefully a nice set of new shiny wheels.
Today I had a chance to take some pictures of the new tires. The truck was parked at the end of my driveway so I didn't really get a chance to get the best of shots, but I was able to take some close-ups of the tread and what not. As I said before, I'm very happy I did this. I just feel so much more confident about my truck again, she's a big boy again. I knew now was the time to do it while the 285s were still worth money. I was lucky and was able to sell them for $400, not bad for tires with 10,000 miles on them! I'm still looking to install that 1.5" spacer, but I'll have to wait until I get my tax returns in a couple of weeks or so. Anyways, here's the pictures. I'll take some more pictures in the near future when she's out of the driveway, but these shall do for now.
