Default So I finally Bit the Bullet - Ordered new Shoes

I've been driving my 2000 Sport around for over a year now with a 3" suspension lift and OEM size tires, basically looking like a clown. Today I finally snapped and ordered new shoes for it.

315/75 R16 and 16x8 Black steel "D" window wheels

Since I'm from Canada and shipping across the border sucks big time, I'm having them shipped for pickup just on the other side of the border. My plan is to go down and throw them on on the spot, then drive back.

Hopefully, they will fit!

I know there may be some rubbing at full lock, but I'm hoping that it will be minimal so that I can drive back home before starting to trim the bumper and smash the wheel well.

I was wondering if anyone could show me a picture of "how much trimming is required" wtih only a 3" suspension lift for a 35" tire.

you shouldnt have to trim with the 3inch lift. and what is the back spacing on the wheels you got? if they are like 4.5 of backspacing it wonnt rub either at full lock.

^^^ That is good news. Unfortunately I don't know the exact backspacing of the wheel, but since it's an 8" wide, I think it's safe to assume it will have a 4.5" backspacing.
The place I ordered from claims that they send you the correct wheel for your application.

If I can get away with little to no trimming, I will be one happy man.

I wonder how bad stock gearing with 35s will be!

if you have 3.55's it will suck. i have the stock 3.92's and they are just o.k. couldnt use some 4.56's to make it nice. mine are 35/12.50/17's. i could tell the difference as soon as i left the tire shop. it needed more braking to stop and more acceleration to go. it also depends on the weight of the tires and rims. my combo weighs like 98lbs each. 25 lbs heavier than what i had on it before.

stock wheels are like 5.85 backspacing. if they send you the same backspacing it will rub at lock. you will need to get some wheel spacers.

Yup... I'm on stock 3.55 and plan on sticking to it simply because I've already added a locker to the rear end. I can deal with a slight decrease in performance, as long as it is still "drivable" on the street.

If I have to make spacers, I can live with that too.

My tires are finally waiting for me to pick them up, but now I have to leave the country for a week, so I have to wait till next weekend. This blows.

Here's some other shots with the old shoes.... can't wait to see if the new ones fit!

Ok... so here's what I ended up with once all was said and done.
No rub at full lock, or under any of the articulation that I've done so far.












Nothing fancy, but I offroad this truck, so I'm not putting bling on it.

Very nice! It almost looks like you could trim the plastic on that front bumper and eliminate that rub.
