Here is what it is doing.

1.While at a red light, The truck jerks forward hard. I feel like someone hit me in the back.

2. My rpms, when giving gas hard, It wont pass 2,000 rpms like it should. It jumps from idle to 2000 and then starts to crawl to the thru rpms. I cant even get to 3000 basically.

What could cause this?

sounds like a transmission issue. is it starting in first gear? it sounds to me like its starting in 2nd or 3rd and the RPMs jump from idle to 2000 because thats around the stall of the converter, then it has a hard time pulling in a higher gear. is your CEL on?
What is the stall, i thought it was like 1100 or something. maybe the truck is starting in 1st but shifting into 3rd right away. Does this happen everytime? no matter what the throttle position is? its hard to internet diagnose, lol

I don't know about stall converter cuz what i mean is when at idle and im in drive and if i hit gas hard then it goes from idle to 2000 and then starts to crawl past it but if im in park or N it will rev across the entire rpm band flawlessly

no hard time pulling into gears shifts great and my CEL is not on at all

When im at the lught and just sitting there is when it jerks and it will shift from 1st to second and 3rd no problem just that jerk and the stall happens only after it hits 2000 rpms then its a crawl to the rest of the rpm band and i cant get it up to 3000 very fast if i even have before

Its a hard snap jerk that feels like a hit in the back

no it dont try to push me along or anything

 

The '94 1500 I just bought does the same jerk thing at stop light once in awhile, but doesn't have the same rev problem as you.

 

yeah, you might be looking at two different issues there... if you cant give a better explanation as to how the jerk is, like what is the engine doing when it jerks, and a better explanation as to how it feels when you try and get past 2000 rpms we cant really diagnose well. Do you hear a gurgling or chugging when you pass 2000 rpms and it just wont go when it starts doing that? or is it just like its not recognizing that your pushing the gas that hard??? explain explain!!!

The engine doesnt really do anything i mean when it does the jerk i dont notice a increa in revs might be becuz i dont catch it but when i do look at it right after it is still as it should be.

Now that you mention i i did hear a gurgling sound before when i rev it hard like water flowing but i aske my dad ( he did alo of mechanic work before ) and he said that could just be the heater something i forgot what he said about it.

You could say it dont recognize it becuz i notice when floor it the truck dont take a nose dive and pick up but rather just glide along and u can feel it in the pedla that when u floor it u can tell it only opned up so much so once it hits 2k rpms it starts to crawl thru the numbers at a very slow rate
