Okay i have a 1999, 5.2, And for my exhaust i have 2half inch stright pipe all the way back with no cat or muff. And my question is how can i make it louder with out running true dool, or side pipes. And still make it sound good. Would it make it any louder if i built a y pipe and ran 2inch dools back? I just dont no what to do, any suggestions would be great thanks.

this is my truck with stock cat, no muffler and split with 2 1/4 and 4" tips, gutted the cat after and it was VERY loud

 

The best advice I have for you is to get an off road H pipe or X pipe. Run both pipes back just behind the cab and put turn downs on it. The sound of your exhaust popping of the pavement is LOUD. After that, headers for better flow, or you can go the hot rod route. At my last shop we built a set of zoomy pipes for a 429 cobra jet. 8 pipes coming straight out of the engine compartment. It was so loud that it busted 2 guys ear drums at a burnout contest.

 

I allready have a tip on it a 4inch tip.

 

go with 3in. pipe all thew way back with an H-Pipe and 5in. tips and get some long tube headers.

 

It will be loud for sure, but it will take 3 minutes to go from 0 to 60mph. LOL

 

he didn't say he wanted to go fast just wanted it louder HAHA! you can always go with 5in. deisel pipe and some 8in tips.

 

why not just get a fart can with a carbon fiber exhaust tip.

so you are going to spend money JUST to be loud? For what reason? Attention? Do you not get enough at home? They have a program called boys and girls club of america to help you with that.
