Default Headers

I would like to put headers on my 96 ram SLT. I was interested in Hookers but i recently discovered they do not make them for Rams. However, I was looking at Dynatec and Hedmen Headers. I want something that wont kill my wallet, but will still perform.. any reccomendations? Thanks

speaking of headers, what is everyone runnning? i was thinkinkg of getting a set but i dont want to mess around with warping flanges and re-torqueing bolts. what seems to be the most reliable header brand for daily drivers that tow and generally see some pretty harsh conditions? also, any specific brand that does or does not bolt up to the factory y-pipe?

There are some out there that do go right in..I think im going to go with the pacesetter long tubes...but going to have to have a custom Y pipe made if i do not do true duals... And i know they are a little pricey..but stage 8 locking header bolts...i run them on my camaro and have NEVER had them come loose...If i remeber right they are about 50bucks for a set...but i think are worth it.

hmm.. just speculating here.. but being i have dual exhaust.. if id run a long tube header, then get rid of the y pipe.. i could just put a pipe from each header, tack into my mufflers, and have a true dual system.. correct me if im wrong?

Sounds like your right...if you have two mufflers and the pipes stay spearate from each other..then yea you would have true duals..

hm. that wouldnt be all that expensive to do either.. prolly under $350 depending on the headers i go with... hm.. you have me thinking now. i was gonna run shorties.. but i might switch that now. and true duals should sound a little better then my duals with the y pipe.
