Default Accel Coil problem on 5.9L

I've had an Accel coil on my Ram 5.9L for 3 years with no apparent problem.
Just bumped the wire harness and the truck shut off. On my 1997 Ram, the female pins in the plug are larger than the male pins on the Accel Coil. The factory coil connector pins are a snug fit, the Accel are very loose. Had to remove pins from plug and compress them enough to get a snug fit on the Accel connector pins. If your having an problem with Accel coils, check the
pins, at least for my 1997 truck they weren't made the right size for a reliable contact with the factory plug. I'm new to forum, so if this has already been talked about, sorry.

Hmm... your male pin is too small for your female... I'm sorry to hear that. I never had a problem with mine but, good to know.

A bowl of worms does not count! On a serious note, I had to get towed 80 miles back home because of an Accel coil or the harness, don't know which don't care. So you know my opinion.

To make the Accel coil fit on the 5.9 you need the adapter harness
http://www.amazon.com/Accel-140021AH...5001499&sr=1-1
http://www.autozone.com/R,3868232/in...ductDetail.htm
(If you live close to an Autozone just buy it from there, you pay no shipping and they will receive it in 1 or 2 days....plus you can easily return it if it doesn't work out)

Without this harness the wires will be loose.

No adapter is needed for a 1997 5.9l, gray plug is for newer models. Plug on a 1997 is like the black plug on the end of the adapter shown.
