Default Brake light and ABS light comes on

I have had my front brakes pads and rotors replaced about 4mo ago and now I have these lights coming on. It's funny because the pedal and stopping power is like nothings wrong. Could it be a sensor?
2001 Dodge Ram 318 2wheel dr.

Another quick question are the 2001 2WHL dr. have drum brakes???

When did the light come on? Have you tried resetting your computer? One of the things that coulda happened is if they didnt open the bleed ports on the calipers and squeezed the piston back it will screw up the check valve for the ABS system. And yes, you should have drum brakes on the back.

yes.
4 wheel abs means there is a sensor on each of the two front wheels. it plugs into a hole in the hub, and has a wire for the controller to read the revolution of the tire. remove the front wheels and look for the wire, check for it being loose or damaged.

early 2001 have drum brakes. the later ones (2001 1/2) have disks. mines a drum.

You most likely only have RWABS and your problems are caused by the sensor located in the differential. They are around $35 if I recall correctly to buy and really easy to replace.

Unplug it and try cleaning the contacts first.

I have the same problem on a 98 2wd 5.9. MY lights are staying on and I have replaced the rear sensor. What is the easiest way to reset the computer, and do I have to reset the moduel under the battery?

Disconnect your neg battery cable and turn the key trying to start the vehicle. All the residule power will go to the starter. I usually leave the cable disconnected for at least 30sec. Another thing that makes the light come on is if you change out your brake pads and dont pump up your brakes before you start the truck.

You're not wrong. It's just that the one in the rear end housing is the most common one to go bad. That's why most will suggest cleaning and or replacing that one first.

The speed sensor in the tranny isn't used in `98 and newer trucks. It's still there and will trip a CEL if it's bad but that's it. In `97 back, it will cause erratic shifting. The sensor on the rear axle is used for speed, distance and RWAL input. If bad, it will trip the "ABS" and "BRAKE" lights but won't set the CEL. You'll also have no (or degraded) speedometer and odometer readings.
