Alright- short of pulling off the IM, is there a decent way to check if the gasket's popped? I'll be checking the radiator cap, but any other indications?
With the broken airbox, there was plenty of air escaping, but with that fixed, I should be able to hear any new hisses- Mark W.

Ok- I'll check vacuum. By the way it's dying out, though, I don't feel a lack of vacuum. Also, oil consumption is negligible so far, but I'll check again- Mark W.

If you have a gauge, there is a better way to check it. IMO anyway. Instead of checking it at the hose they suggest in the TSB. Plug that one up too, and check at the dipstick tube instead.

Good deal- so what should I be looking for, vacuum wise, at the dipstick? Mark W.

Ok- just downloaded the datalog from my scan tool from my run last night- LTFT when I got on it went as low as -29%, and saw around 0.100->0.140V when at WOT. Load never got greater than 66%.
By that count, I'd figure it is the fuel pump. With voltage that low, it's leaning way the hell out. At P/T, it was around 0.780V, which is a bit rich.

Another interesting thing- at idle, TPS was reading 15.2%. Is that normal (probably about 1V or so), or is that indicating a bad TPS? Idle (when warm) was about 675 or so, and no vacuum leaks as far as I can tell- Mark W.

It doesn't want to have vacuum, it wants to show pressure. And you can't do it with a scan tool.

Hah- I know you can't check vacuum with a scan tool, thanks I have vacuum gauges.
Alright- test drove the beast. Once again, O2V was reading as low as 0.060V under WOT. Whacked the tank with a rubber mallet a few good times, not much change.

My next question is, is there any difference between buying an Airtex pump from Autozone, say, than OEM? Are they made by the same people, as they often are? Thanks, Mark W.

So I guess you checked the fuel pressure with a gauge too right? Connect it and tape it to the windshield or wiper arm or something so you can see it while driving. And Airtex is OK but a Delphi or oem is probably better. Just don't get a Carter.

No, I need the adaptor, and the Dodge place is closed on the weekends here. Alright- thanks for your help. I'll stay away from Carter. Cheers- Mark W.
