Default sorry another tire question.

I'm thinking of getting new tires, cause the ones i have now just suck in the winter. i was wanting to go to a bigger size like 285/75/16 will i have any problem with it rubbing? how wide of a rim should i run? i just have the stock rims now i think there 16x7.

thanks,

Jeff

do you have any front lift? you may have conrtol arm rubbing regardless if you are using stock wheels.

285 you will rub. If you get 16X8 like I just did they will stick out some from the fenders.

Im pretty sure you can clear them with stock suspension... it will be close. I had 285x75's on my 16" stockers and they did not rub my control arms at all, but when my brother put them on his truck they did... so you dont really know for sure if they will rub the arms until you test run them. If they do, the only way to fix that is to get a different wheel with less backspacing, which they then might rub the fender.

That's the size I've got and I do have a SLIGHT rub on the left (at full lock). Right side is clear.

I take it you have a 3.55 in the back thats one. mpg's down. More $$$ for the tires.
