Thumping sound in front end????

Default Thumping sound in front end????

I am hearing a thumping sound from the right front on hard left turns, its a 2wd ext cab. upper and lower ball joints are about 3 yrs old, monroe sensa-trac shocks are about 2 yrs old and tight, front end is well greased. Any idea's??

wheel bearings, sway bar bushings, any of the ball joints, etc

youll have to check all your bushings and balljoints, even though they arent that old yet.... these are Dodges after all. I also remember someone here was talking about a GM pickup and the engine mount was toast and it was doing close to the same thing, worth a peek

on another note. my instructor in school told me about a repeat customer that came into the shop with a clunk while turning, they finally found a snap-on air ratchet in the fenderwell that was left there at the factory... customer is happy with a free fix, the tech is happy with a new snap-on air ratchet, everyone wins... lol who knows, you might get lucky

Make sure your sway bar hasn't slid to one side or the other. If it has it will drag on the spring perch.

If you have a leveling kit or modified geometry, your spindle is dragging on the spring perch at full droop.

Both are problem's I've had.

Brought it over to have it looked at today and it turns out the Idler Arm and Pitman arm are worn out!!!!
