For some reason my 95 Ram keeps burning out the 15 amp. fuse for the parking lights, ive gone thru 3 in 2 days, its starting to **** me off, not being able to see my gauges at night, and no tail lights unless i step on the brakes, im worried a cop is gonna pull me over for having my lights off.
any ideas why, bad ground, or short
im gonna pop the hood at school tomorrow before i leave the parking lot to see if i can find a fault somewhere
itll be a short, a bad ground will result in an open, which wont blow fuses. i guess you will have to find a scematic and trace all the wiring. it can be something as stupid as a burnt out light bulb where the filiment has fallen and shorting internally. have fun! lol
Someone on the forum had this same problem recently and he found a frayed wire rubbing against a sharp sheet metal edge where the harness passes into the tail light area. I would start checking the tailight wiring and any trailer pigtail wiring for shorts. Also, another regular poster here (APA I believe) suggests temporarily wiring a bulb in place of the fuse while manipulating the harness. When the bulb lights, then you know you've found your short.
yea ive got a few areas im gonna check something may have gotten moved around, i heard about the light bulb trick, but completely forgot about it, thanks man
