216k miles on the original transmission and still going strong (knock on wood). I have mine serviced about every 2 years or about 14k miles. I wonder why mines lasted so long. I'm not sure if its the 46 or the 47re. would that make a difference. I bought the truck for towing and the dealer said it had a hd transmission so idk, i thought he was bullsh*tn me.

If you have a 1500 it has a 46 unless someone replaced it along the line.

My trans only crapped out when I burned up the torque converter trying to dig myself out of a mud hole and then installed a supercharger @ 6lbs. Thats a lot of
abuse on the stock unit. If it wasn't for those things I think it would have lasted quite a long time.

I think the 47 has 14 bolts holding the pan and the 46 has 12??? I'd better go count my 47

Mine left me stranded on the side of the road at around 127k miles

But I did overheat it really bad once (a few years prior to failure).
