mopar hi-perf engine comp
For a '95, it would be worth it simply because you don't really have any other options since you are OBD1. I had one on my '99, and it was better then the Hypertech programming I had before it.
im running one in my 95,,and there was a noticeable difference spec in the torque department..but if memory serves me correctly,it only gives like .01 horsepower and like 20 torque,,,the most noticeable gains with them will be when you upgrade the other stock parts..(hedders,throttlebody,intake,etc)
well i already have headers and super low restriction exhaust and intake so i could use more tq. i run mid grade gas. will that work or do i need premium? and hows the install? do u just bolt on the firewall and hook up those 3 looms to it and ur done?
check,,but with mine it says 93 only or i get pinging..yep,,easy install,,take out the bolts holding the old one on,,,and replace with your new one,,,shop around and try too find a good used one...i got mine from bionicdodge.com,,from someone else...seems i paid 100.00 for it plus shipping.

Remove the 3plugs, 3screws and remount the MP PCM and plug it back in. Simple swap.
By mistake I filled my 96 with 87oct and didnt get ping. Probably get away running mid grade gas but in summer heat &/or towing run 91oct. I saw a small mpg increase when I added one to my 96 while using 91-94oct.
MP PCM on the 96 5.9 gave a claimed 20hp/26trq (crank) according to Mopar Performance (97 catalogue). KRC dyno sheet of MP PCM on a Dak RT showed a gain of .1hp/28trq at the wheels. Ive always been suspicious of that one time dyno test they did at KRC.
1/4m et reduction on my 96 Indy was .28 seconds. Very sizeable/noticeable gain that was more than many of the bolt on upgrades Ive track tested over the years.
I still have mine and will use it with the 408 to control the trans only(FAST saem).
