I have a set of tire chains the biggest I can run with the is 255/70/16. If I go any bigger I want new gears.

It is still odd you cant run anything larger with out any issues of rubbing. I run 265/70's on my 97 2wd, with all kinds of wheel well room. And LT285's on my 2001 4x4, and they almost still look small, not sure if that is because it is the Offroad package with a taller stance or what. But you would think you would never have any issues with 255's.

There is a rubber piece, part of the front wheel wells, that can fall back and hit the tire if its not hooked to the front bumper. It can happen if your bumper gets mucked up by an accident.
