Default Lights behind grille

I have some 100w daylighters i want to put behind my grille. I checked the other day and I have to get new tubing and bend it so i can fit the lights there. Would that be to hot for the grille or would I be better off getting some different lights to put there?

Get some Hella 500's. They fit right behind the grille and only need a 6 inch piece of flat stock to mount. No cutting or drilling required.

I've got a pair of those in 55watt HID. They barely get warm. That's HID though. No idea about halogen.

The kit was 70, the lights were 70.

You can retrofit a pair of the lights in 35 watt hid for about $100 now.

As in, 70 for the lights, 30 for the HID's.

HID's are cheap now.

Putting lights behind the grill will drastically reduce it's side to side output. It will make them more of a 'pencil' beam.

I know i will lose side output. I like the look of lights behind the grille though. Its just I will have to get different lights because my kc daylights wont fit behind the grille with out bending new metal pipes to make it fit.
