Default What Axles In A '98 Sport

I installed 35" tires right before winter and now I'm getting ready to to upgrade the gears, but I don't know what axles I have.

Also what would a good ratio be with the 35" tires? I was thinking 4.56s or 4.88s since I do alot of towing and hauling and there are quiet a bit of hills here in wisconsin.

And one more what is the final overdrive ratio in an auto? Is it .70 or something else?

Thanks in advance

A little research says that the front axle is a dana 44 with 30 spline axles and the rear is a 9.25 but how many spline axles does it have? And is my information correct?

if its a 1500 dana 44 front 9.25 rear
2500 60s front and rear, unless its a diesel then it has a 70 rear
3500 60 front 80 rear

i think www.4wheelparts.com has a gear to tire size chart listed and this might help you decide.

I'll be ordering an auburn limited slip for the rear and 4.56s this weekend, just have to find a good deal on gears.

How much are you guys paying for to get gears installed?

Thanks for the help

I ordered 4.56s, the auburn, and the install kits for the front and rear and got everything for $944 shipped. Have to make an appointment on monday to get them installed and am not really looking foward to hearing what that is going to cost, but the guy is good and I know they will be done right.
