Default Steering Stabilizer

Today when I was looking underneath my truck, I noticed my steering stabilizer is pretty rusty. I'd like to replace it with something fancy, but wasn't sure which company I should go with. Also, what are your guys thoughts on a dual stabilizing kits? Are they unnecessary, or would this provide any kind of extra control with the bigger tires and lift in the front? Thank You.

dual kits are designed for 35" tires and up. you will however notice an improvement even if your tires are smaller. the standard single and dual kits are made by companies like skyjacker, but FOX makes a nice one with billet brackets and such, but are usually pretty expensive.

Great, thanks for the help. I've noticed my truck is tough to drive on the highway. Even with a straight alignment, you pretty much need to white knuckle it the entire time. Is it difficult setting up the bracket for a second steering stabilizer? I may just replace my existing one, but I would like to have two up front; obviously one hasn't done much to relieve the steering on the highway.

I've never thought anything about it. I did replace my stock unit with a Heckthorn stab. Snapped it in half one morning on the way to work. Pulled it off, expecting a fight on the drive home ... nope ... drove the same. That was 3 or so years ago ... never put a new one on.

I replaced mine (had 89000 miles on it) with a new Monroe one. Couldn't tell a difference. I'm planning on trying it w/o one, but haven't gotten around to it.

The Monroe one isn't fancy. It's plain old black. I did put a blue cover on it, though.

Helms, do you think I will notice any difference in steering control with a dual stabilizing kit, or am I better off just replacing the one I have now?

I'd either take it off. Which is what a lot of guys seem to do or take it off and give it a custom paint job. I did that with my shocks and they look amazing.

As for Fox they make nice stuff. I considered getting a set of shocks for them but I couldn't bring myself to spend over $1000 for 4 shocks when I can get Skyjackers for like $160 or something for 4.

So you don't think there is any value in buying a dual steering stabilizer kit, or replacing the one that is there now?
