glad you got it worked out. just think of how much money you saved as well as how much you learned. if/when you do the rear main there's a good how to on pavementsucks, and i've got some pics in my wp thread.

Sounds good, but how you get that damn oil pan off?? lol The manual says you have to do everything from unbolt the transmission mount, unbolt exhaust components and lift the engine on the engine mounts!! Jeeesh!

I think I've seen this article before. I'm not certain, but I believe on my truck the "bulbous" end of the oil pan is facing the other way round. Does this make a difference on disassembly?

are you working on a ram or a dakota. the oil pan may be harder to get off a dakota. you may need to google that for some how-to's. as far as i know, the deep end (sump) is on the rear for all 5.2 and 5.9.

Question Harmonic Balancer

All the advice about this type of coolant leak is wonderful! But the only question i have(since i am right now in this situation) which direction does the balancer bolt turn?

Why would you want access to a harbor freight!!? So you could buy a tool that would break the first time you tried to use it!! Crap is all they sell!!

Harbor Freight does sell some good stuff. Just gotta be careful.
