I just got done getting my front passenger axle joint replaced. Was doing the same thing. Clack clack clack clack. Definitely sounds like your problem.

Jack up the front and spin your tire and look at the ujoints to see if you can see any play in them i replaced mine and it wasnt fun also check the wheel bearings to see if they are junk ~GoodLuck~
