Will 15" wheels work on a '98?
I was wondering if there is any of y'all running a 15 inch wheel? And if so, I would like to have the dimesions. You can't find a LT33x12.50R16. That is why.
I have not heard of anyone having problems with 15" steel wheel clearing the calipers, but some people have problems with the aluminum wheels... it just depends on the wheel. My brother had 15x10" aluminum wheels on his 01 truck (dual piston calipers) with no clearance problems.
And as far as tires go, like Ram2k1 stated, just get a 305/70/16. Its basically the exact same size as a 33x12.5, just has different numbers on the sidewall

Well, what is wrong with the 285/75/16? Those measure 32.8x11.2 or so, is that too wide? Its not even an inch wider than the 265's.
Your other choice would be to buy 15" rims and get a 33x10.5x15 or a 33x9.5x15, which I know BFG sells both of those sizes and a few others may as well.
But, if you already have a 16" rim I would just get the 285's (unless that is wider than your likings).

I just noticed in your sig, you already have 285/75's on there...you won't get much closer to 33" than 32.8" with a 16" wheel.
You're right I do have 285 on my truck. I like them, but I wanted to see if there were an option to get a 15 inch wheel. So it could be easier to get the standard tire size vs. getting the metric. Plus I will problaly get new 285/75r16 soon. I thought about getting news wheels (polished aluminum) in either a 15" or a 17". But since the economy is upside down I will stick to the 16".
