Lund racerback
I just picked up a racerback (used) for my 98 quadcab, and I see it requires drilling into the sides of the cab to mount it. my question is, could I get away with using some good double sided tape to secure it? I am willing to drill into the rear of the cab to screw the brackets on but I hate to do it on the sides, in case it's not a permanent addition. I will be adding 4 rectangular lights to it also. Would the tape and the bracket on the back of the cab be enough to support it?
It's sitting funny here because I have to trim it around my box rails, but this shows how much room I have for tape

There is an industrial 3M (I think) double sided tape that is used to hold semi trailer panels on with. I have used it to hold an aftermarket part on my dirt bike frame for several years now with no problems. I think over the years it just gets stronger as it flows a bit. Amazing stuff, sorry I can't remember part number.
thanks ugly1, ya I was thinking about that 3m stuff, I knew they had something crazy strong for tape. Has anyone ever secured one of these things with double sided tape? The more I think about it the more I am convinced it would be good enough but would like your opinions

...The 3M industrial grade should work...it's called 3M VHB tape...just search it on the web.
