I was wondering if it is possible to use the injectors from an 03 in a 95. They are both 5.9 magnums, but they have different plug types on the injectors. Obviously I would have to change the plugs but would they work? I know they make high impedence injectors and low impedence also. Having hard time finding injector specs. The reason I ask is I pulled my intake for the plenum gasket and found the thing to be really cruddy so I bought a used one of a 2003 but it has the different "red " injectors. I would imagine mine are a bit dirty like the rest of the intake and would rather use the red ones if I could. Any help would be great.

 

i thought that chrysler dropped the 5.9 in 02. and those injectors should have been the exact same as far as i know for an 02. was the truck a 1/2 ton? i guess it is possible that the 5.9 could have been used in 3/4 or something, but i've never heard of that. if there are no problems with your current injectors i wouldn't mess with those. you could even just throw in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner for good measure.

 

Your 95 has 19# injectors, there black in color. the 03 has 24# injectors, and are red in color. Out side of changing the connector you will have to get the trucked tuned for the bigger injectors. With out doing this you will be pumping more fuel into the motor than needed.

 

so there was a 5.9 in 03? hmm i never knew that. what models because i want one.

 

They were still trying to get rid of the rest of the magnums so they threw them in the early 03s and in the 02s.

 

Some 2003 Rams came with the left-over 5.9.

Yes, they are REALLY rare. But I know they are out there, because I remember reading a article in Truck Trend in 2003 about them testing a 2003 5.9 Ram.

Yeah I think it would be pretty rare to see an 03 with the 5.9, they were only in the half ton's.
