Okay guys I did a fuel pressure test and it holds 50lbs perfect but when I rev it up to the higher RPMS where its missing the fuel pressure drops to 40lbs and fluctuates alot. My neighbor did the pressure test and he's a certified mechanic at a dodge dealership and he's the one i bought the truck from and he says that the fuel pump is bad. So I'm gonna put a new fuel pump in it, let you know the results, thanks for the input I prolly would ended up changing the timing chain HAHA. Thanks guys. I'll let you all know the results.

does your rig have a body lift? make sure your tank is almost bone dry when you drop it. there's a link on this forum complete with pics on how to change it out. I did mine last summer and it wasn't bad at all and the link helped. The reason I asked if you had a body lift is you won't have to drop the tank as far if you do. If you do not some of the members just lifted their beds up like a dump truck and it made the install easy.

Okay thanks for the link, that is helpful. I dont have a body lift, but i got a 8" suspension lift so its pretty easy to work under my truck I can sit straight up and the tank is pretty light when its empty...............

I'll go drive it around the block a bunch of times til its runnin on fumes haha. Thanks.

If I'm going to put bigger injectors on my truck this summer is it necassary to get a 255lph fuel pump or does the stock one work fine?

depends on how big of injectors, if they are not too radical then you should be ok however if you are going REAL BIGGER then fuel pump is only a token of the other items you'll need to be looking at changing. Ignition, head work, cam, etc

Yea, I have complete MSD ignition, Port and Polished Heads, Roller Rockers, Double Roller Timing Chain, 4.56 gears so I was thinkin about gettin some bigger injectors and fastman throttle body, but I wont go too big on injectors.

Will this fuel pump work in my truck?

our style pump comes as complete assembly however i don't see why you couldn't remove the pump motor and wire in this one. go to O'Reilly or Autozone and ask to look at the fuel pump assy for our trucks you'll see the pump motor inside it. look at it and make sure this new one will fit.
