What to do with the 'stripe'
As you can see in the pic in my sig, my truck has the two color paint scheme I believe is part of the Laramie package. While the white has aged pretty well, the silver on the stripe is of lower quality, and doesn't look so hot.
As I've stated on another thread, my truck is going in for body work in the next week or so, and I'm having the stripe repainted as part of a bigger project of fixing the rust on the lower edge of the doors, that seemingly every Ram up north is faced with. My plan has been to go with white, having the body shop match it up as best as they can.
From everything I've read, starting to think this isn't the best idea, because it seems like matching white is going to be pretty difficult for the body guy. Kicking around having the silver painted some other color, but haven't seen much outside of silver up here. What have you seen, and have you preferred it to a one color truck? Pics are appreciated.
I am thinking I'd like a single color truck, but if I see a two color scheme I like (with white), might save the body guy some head aches.

I don't want to repaint the whole truck right now. At this point, I've been quoted fixing the lower doors and painting for under $300. Price doesn't change if he tries to match the white or repaint a second color. I'd prefer all white, but I've read that white is the hardest color to match. I've seen the rhino liner but I'm not crazy about it, not my cup of tea I guess.
Guess it boils down to risking the color match on the white doesn't turn out so great (and I can't complain about it for 300 bucks) or just having a different color used for the silver and having it look similar to what it does now, w/o rust.

I'm just going to say this now...you will never match white. Its nearly impossible.
My dad had a 97 Ram 1500, and hit a deer, so, he got the 2000 Sport bumper for it, and had his truck compounded and buffed, and the bumper painted to match.
It never did look right. You could tell it was just a shade or two lighter. Someone else might not notice, but you will.
But, I actually like the rhinoliner idea...or, maybe do it in black, and get all black stickers for it?

I was advised by 2 guys that rhino was a way to *******ly guarantee no rust would come back, but I'm not crazy about the look. I just like the look of a clean 'factory' truck. My mods to date are a bit of tint, little exhaust and air intake, and after I upgrade the stereo, I might be done. Looked at aftermarket rims but ended up liking the look of the factory off road edition rims best, so found some of those instead.
You do realize that the Rhino Liner can be color matched . Maybe not exact just like the regular paint, but the different texture will make the color look slightly different anyway. And the durability and no scratches in your paint from the tires, speaks for itself.

I know it can be matched, but guess I've seen it done and don't like the look of the 'heavy' texture. I've been told it can be done with different textures, might like it more with a lighter texture, but hesitant to do it since I haven't seen it.
It seemed like you were just talking about black, which I don't like either on a light colored truck. But I have seen some with it color matched, and it looked great. I don't know what texture it was though.
What I've seen is (color matched) really heavy texture, which looked pretty amateurish. You are dead on about the durability aspects. I don't know the long term plans for the truck at this time as far as the body, so I'd rather lean away from the texture right now. I might have the whole thing repainted in a year or two, and at that time look at it more seriously.
