wheel bearings
alright, back in october i was goofin off and muddin and thats when i bent my rod......truck didnt get fixed and on th road until early january......ever since then i have had a grinding noise....at first i thought it was mud and junk in my drums.......but it hasnt went away and it seems more and more like its coming from the front.....pretty much anything over 15ish mph and its a constant grind, doesnt change when brakin, so ive pretty much ruled that out for front and back........what else could this be besides front wheel bearings?......this is a 2wd....i dont remember any noise before.....also, ive never done bearings b4 but im good at wrenchin..... i have a manual, just havent checked it out yet.....is it fairly easy?

the outers just fall out and the inners are press in the hub a little so just take long screw driver and tap is out,, all so if you are replacing the inner you have to take the bake caper off just two bolt
and make sure to pack the bearers good

yes,
also you can push them back on with your hand them tap with a hammer. but when the rotor is put back on i should seat back in the hub when puted on the spindle.
you may beable to clean them, just use a little gas in a cup.. just pack the bears very very well with gease.. and when put it back together don't over tighten the nut.
hope i help, it a easy job,,,, just have a lost of rags

depends on how "bad" bad is. if they're not worn so bad that the rollers are about to fall out of the cage, and if you properly pack them full of grease, and tighten your spindle nut so they're snug, but not too tight and not too loose.... then they'll be fine for a long time.
on the other hand, if you let them run dry, or very loose, then bad things can happen including ruining the spindle.
last time i looked, standard bearings were cheap. why not just replace them ?

I had rotors and bearings like that on my 95 Dakota. I think I repacked the bearings twice in 75k miles but the bearings were still good.
However, I discovered today that my Durango doesn't have the tapered roller bearing so I have to replace the entire hub assembly and Autozone and even Napa only have a 1 yr warranty. I miss my Dakota.
You guys think the 5.2 engine in your Ram is ok.......I had the 5.2 in my Dakota.
