Default Alternative for cb whips?

What else can I do (cheap) instead of getting whips for a cb? I wouldn't care for the look of my truck with whips. I go out every week or every other week with friends on mountain rides and a lot of them use cb's. One would have came in useful last night when my friend and I were out playing in the mud too. It gets kinda old pulling over, rolling down windows or opening doors to see where we are going to go next. I don't need super long rangem could I just run a splitter off my radio antenna or would I be better off getting so something to stick on my roof?

If you go through tight places with low hanginging trees I would advise against a magnet mount on the roof. You will have to stop very often in order to keep putting it back up.

That is true but I'm willing to take the risk.

My friend and I just put whips on his 01 Ram 1500 5.9 white 4x4 with 5" lift winch on 37"s and his truck looks badass. I got the same truck just stock and don't think it will look that great... Maybe after I get my leveling kit and 33"s.

I run a 102" steel whip off the rear bumper which is overkill for what you are wanting to do. I would assume that they are still making the ones that take the place of your FM antenna and both the stereo and CB use it. They don't have much range but it should work for what you want. And you won't have to worry about knocking it off your truck.

I like my fiberglass antenna mounted on my fender. It on the drivers side, opposite of the radio antenna. Looks balanced, works decent.

yeah you can't just use a normal radio ant. I have a mag mount K30 on the roof. I used to have whips. I actually wanted to put them back on just for looks. You can get pretty small cb ants. You just gotta look around

What about using walkie talkies if range isn't important. Easy, simple, good to go.

I use a Wilson 1000 and really like it. If you run a ton of power the 5000 might be a better option. Most everyone I know runs either a Wilson 1000 or 5000. One person ran a Lil Wilson but upgraded to a Wilson 1000 when his antenna wire got caught and ripped.
