Suggestion on truck sell price: put your minimum price you want ($7k maybe?) on the window and let it sit. By not putting your best price out there all the people that stop will not stop again to look at it to see if the price has changed. I know you expect some haggling but price is what will get you phone calls, not the anticipation of haggling.

That's a pretty good idea as some people if they don't know what they are looking for think it's a deal as you already lowered it.

As for my friend's Lariat, it's definitely got all the cute little gadgets. Heated and power seats, passenger and driver side a/c control, bumper sensors, leather seats, 18" wheels, etc. It's a very nice looking truck. We'll see what he says tomorrow. I am not pushing him into anything though; whatever decision he makes I will understand.
In Wi, your truck would probably go for around 6 with that mileage, but totally different market.

If your friend decides to deal on the truck, and you ultimately decide to take it, I wouldn't worry about it becoming uncomfortable down the line. Once he gets into a house of his own, it opens up a whole new world of things to worry about...he'll get over the truck quick.

Well, I don't think the ford deal is going to go down. He told me he'd call me this morning to let me know, but he never did. He details vehicles, so I helped him out today upon his request. The discussion of his truck never came up, so I took that as he'd like to forget about it, which I am ok with.

In regards to my truck, many people are pulling over to look at it. Today, an adult man called me asking to test drive it. I wasn't in the area to get there in time, but we arranged for a test drive with the truck tomorrow around 5pm.

I've also had one of my friends offer me $6,000, but that is too low. I didn't completely shut him out though. I told him I would lower it $900 for him, and do $7,000.

Finally, my best friend is interested as well. Honestly, I'd really prefer to see him in the truck. Not only would I get to see my truck all the time, I know he would really take care of it like myself. I told him I'd do $7,000. We're going to the bank tomorrow afternoon to see if he can be pre-approved for a $7,500 loan. If he is, he then would like to test drive my truck to see if he likes it. He's always liked my truck, but obviously the higher mileage worries him a little bit. So a lot going on lately, but I'm just trying to keep cool. If I can sell my truck, I'll have anywhere from $21,000-$22,900 to spend on a new truck. Once I sell my truck, I'm really going to take my time finding the perfect truck. I have the luxury of a windstar to drive around in while I'm looking for the right truck. I'll keep you all posted folks.

Hell, as long as you sell it locally, to a person you know and trust, that is good.

I tend to say I'd be hesitant to sell it to friends. If you think it's going to have problems especially. As if you sell it to a random person and it breaks in a month oh well. It's now their problem. If you sell it to your best friend and it breaks down in a month who do you think is going to hear about it? It could easily ruin a friendship. On the other hand it he never had a problem with it it would have been great as you would still get to see the truck.

Yep I've always been told not to do business with family for that reason. I've done it anyway and usually it's worked out but if something went bad I could only imagine the problems it could cause.
