What causes popping on decelerating?

I wish I had a video of my 2.2 S-10 when I cut the down-pipe off (flex coupling broke) and drove it down to the exhaust shop. It sounded like **** when you pressed the pedel, but when it Backrapped, it was the best exhaust sound I have ever heard! With the exceeption of 5.0 Mustangs.

Mine started popping when the converter was getting clogged up...it runs a bit lean...but sounds more like bacon crackling rather than popping when the converter is clogging up....

its because we have a v8 and have mopars ahahaahahaa
