Cold Air Intake a few ?'s

That ricer deal just looks like less surface area, but the same filter...
the way the ricer one works is
filter---pipe---ricer thing----pipe-----intake
so your main filter will take in most of the air most of the time but if it tries to suck in water, it will use the ricer filter because it has less resistance than the water

just dont get the pacesetter cold air kit. it is a major PITA. i regret it and want the chrome 14x3 now. Do you need to put a bend in the stud with the round filter like some of the cold air kits require? or is it just straight up?
