I've been saying it since I bought the truck, and I'll say it again. Dash mats = saved dashboard.

or a towel works good too haha. I keep an extra in my truck to throw on the dash if i dont want to put the sun visor up.

Seriously. Anything that will cut down on the UV rays that hit the plastic will help. It's not the heat that breaks down the plastic. It's the ultraviolet radiation from the sun that literally eats the plastic.

Hell, it's strong enough to give us cancer.

yup, but from what this guy says it looks like his dash is in many many pieces so i'm not sure a towel or dashmat would work in this case. I dont think it would keep it's shape so the plastic one looks like it would be the way to go. I'm not sure though since my dash is still intact with only 3 cracks.

Thats why I have window tint I need to get my windshield done with a 5% strip.

sorry, but are you sure? i thought that glass blocks UV rays, thats why you can't get a tan through the window...

Certain wavelengths, yes.

Practically, no way.



Also, tan =/= Presence of UV Radiation. Many other factors come into play with skin tone.
