Question Poor throttle response

So, after not being able to drive my truck all last week do to not having money for gas, I noticed that recently I have had to pretty much floor it to get it over 60. Also the acceleration has been suffering a bit aswell. I'm just looking for a few ideas. All this started before I put the 180* t-stat in and the plugs wires cap and rotor are all about 2 months old, and I just did tranny fluid on Sunday and oil same time as cap and rotor.

Also every thing seems to be shifting right and I have not noticed any out of the ordinary or that has changed.

Clogged cat, extremely dirty air filter, bad injector, bad 02 sensor(s). The list goes on.

make sure you put your wires in the corresponding number. make sure everything is connected tight. can you hear your injectors working when you turn it on?

Well, going from stop to 60 it is almost normal, above that is where I gotta mash on it and it drops a gear then goes back in to OD. The cat should be good as I passed California smog with flying colors in Febuary. I got no CEL and all gauges are normal.

The only thing is there is a slight ticking sound wich I was told is a slight exhaust leak, but that had been there for a while now.

Also the Airfilter was changed the same time the oil was and was a K$N waste of money.

I don't believe that just because it passed an E test, that it means the cat is good. If it's clogged or getting clogged of course it will pass. I would have it tested. The other thing is, if you drove something else all week like I do, you will notice the truck has no damn power, comparing to whatever you drove.

I drove a 80 cj5 for a few days and 96 cavalier the rest of the week.

I guess I could give the cat a whack next time it gets hot.

you may have a bad TPS. my was sort of like that, with a dead spot around 50-65. i'd mash the gas a little and nothing would happen. mash it more, still nothing. mash it more, and it downshift, upshift, speed up a little and then act flat again.

new TPS and $45 later it was better.

Thats what I was thinking, also, is there a certain tension for the throttle cable to the throttle body, it seemd to have a bit of play in it last time I looked at it.
