Finally, an introduction
This isn't my first thread, as I've been a member since October of '07. I bought this truck at a Salvage/Rebuild dealer in Savannah, TN, for $2250 in '07. It's a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Laramie Quad Cab, 4x4 auto, 5.9L with a rebuild title. It was rolled at one point, then the dealer went through the process to get it back road-legal. At any rate, I bought it to replace the 2004 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 with 5.7L, that I missed dearly. I still miss that truck.
So here's the current state of the Dodge: the gauges do not work, it still has most if not all of the roll damage, and the interior fan always blows, even with the climate controls turned to the off position. I think the transmission might be slipping as well. Oh, and the original muffler was cut off, to make way for a Y and dual rear exiting pipes. Pics of the Dodge are in my gallery.
First on the list is to update the registration, as I let it expire in November, then it's off to get the alignment checked and have it hooked up at a dealer to diagnose the gauges.
It didn't belong to one of you guys in the past, did it? If so, I have a picture of your girlfriend, and she's gorgeous.

Sorry, don't figure she'd want to be on the forum.
As far as paying too much, like I said, I really missed my truck, and at the time I thought it was alright, considering it was only body damage, and it was a running 360 4x4 Quad cab. Not the first vehicle purchase I wish I could go back on, but I'm going to make the most of it since I have it.

If the truck was soomethign you really wanted I wouldnt worry about the price. I personaly think sometimes we have to look past the price, I have always wanted one of these trucks I wanted a quad cab but settled for a extended cab. I paid 300 for mine but it needs a fiar amount of work the headliner and capret as well as the seats all need to be redone as well as a ton od body work and im still not sure if im going to fix the bed or replace it. In the end I know ill spend about 5k on the truck but I dont care because its somethign I wanted and I dont plan on selling. Also you bought hte truck in 07 it was a much better economy then
How bad was the rollover? were any of the post bent? I dont really understand what the dealer di to get it road legal again?
But anyway good luck with the truck I hope you get it all sorted

In Tennessee, a salvage/totalled vehicle can have repairs made and get inspected to be certified as a rebuilt vehicle, but it can't carry anything more than liability insurance.

Hello Everyone, happy to have found this group. I'm in California and I recently bought a 2011 Dodge Dakota and I love it. I really lucked out when I discovered that it only has about 56k miles and was used by the Marines! That means that all of the maintenance was done on a routine basis. It's super clean and I'm excited to get to know it more and eventually contribute to this forum.
