Default Good for a laugh

Coupla weeks ago I replaced all the brakes and shocks on the Ram, afterwards I kept hearing a rattle and could feel it in the floorboard. First instinct was to double check everything I had done and make sure all the fasteners were tight, then checked the sway bar end links cause that was what the rattle and feel in the floorboard sounded like. Everything checked out alright so thought maybe I had gotten a bad shock and was gonna pull them back off and check them out this week. Well mowing season is coming upon us quick so this morning I went to Lowes to get some basic tune up items for the mowers (plugs and filters and oil), well on my way home coming down the bypass I ran over a rough spot I knew was there (spans the whole width of the road) go over the rough spot and it hit extra hard...WTF???

Take a look in my rear view and what do I see?? That's right my spare tire rolling down the bypass right behind me. Pull over real quick and chase the tire down the road for a couple hundred feet, roll it back and throw it in the bed and look around for the cup that holds the spare on. Well the rattle and bangin on the floorboard went away so it wasn't a bad shock. Imagine this....a 38 yr old smoker chasin a tire rollin about 30 mph down the middle of a busy highway bypass. Hope y'all enjoyed my morning fiasco.

Ha ha. Reminds me of when my bed liner blew out. I heard a noise looked back and the liner is landing in the highway in front of a tractor trailer. Mind you the speed limit is 65. He swerved to miss it. All I could think was holy **** people are gonna crash and die. I got it back but pulled it out as soon as I got home. Its still out I don't trust it

Default ...me too

I lost my spare one time at home as well. I drive some really rough roads to school and work but it was just the sidewalk curb drop that was enough to break mine off. If I lost in on the expressway in Boston....I can only imagine the hell it would have cause.

I ended up unwinding the whole thing and using the crimp-cable clamps, put a small piece of pipe to hold the cup on and wound it back up.

Yeah the only thing going through my mind was I hope it doesn't slam into anybody or cause an accident, luckily it was Easter Sunday morning and most folks were at church so I got pretty lucky. Still funny, I haven't run like that in quite some time.

i lost half a rear coil spring outta my Accent this weekend lol... haven't driven it hardly at all since I got the Dodge, the wife drives it and her Blazer randomly lol... I got in it for a drive and could hear an awful rattle comin from rear, stopped to check it out and saw the broken spring. coming home it fell out, I looked in the mirror and it bounced about the height of the car and rolled off the road. I didn't even bother goin back for it... she's harder on vehicles than I am...

When moving down here to the south I have a 22 ft enclosed that I used. Loaned it to a buddy before I moved and he had put on all new tires for me. Like a going away gift I thought very thoughtful of him. 20 miles into it on route 22 in allentown PA rite before the turnpike I lost the right rear tire off the trailer.
It passed me on the highway then it decided to bounce over the median into on comming traffic. All I could say was

Heading home from work on the highway doing around 100km/h, I see something in my rear view mirror. My apprentice says we just lost a 6ft step ladder.....I pull over to the side of the highway...and up ahead a Mountie has a car pulled over.....I slowly back up and get the ladder, which wasn't really damaged! And we're back on the road...
