Default to keep, or not to keep

so lately i've been thinking that i might just take my CAI off, and put my stock box back on. mainly because i want to see if there really is any difference, and because it'll be a hell of a lot easier to take off when i need to work on something than that damn CAI. lol. any opinions? i'm open to suggestions

That's one of the main perks of the 14x3 round air cleaner. It opens up all kinds of room in your engine bay, and it takes about 10 seconds to take on and off. just a wing nut.

It's worth the 30-40 bucks just for the inconvienience alone.

I agree with cereal. The 14x3 was a great & quick mod. Really opens things up under the hood.

thats the thing though...i'm pretty sure you can ask anyone on here about just how much the CAI really does. its not a whole lot...and there's really nothing ****ty about the stock one. i wouldn't mind get a 14x3 but where i live and the places i have to go sometimes its prefered to have the stock one. i might just get the 14x3 for nice days/cruisin, and just keep my stock one for any other time. but as far as the CAI, it's coming out either way.

If you aren't racing and rarely go over 3000rpm the stock air box is fine. However, the stock box doesn't provide any hissing, sucking noise and .....well ......just doesn't look cool and more importantly - doesn't look fast. However, the 14x3 looks much faster and it's old school. Try putting a 14x3 on a new Hemi or a 5.3 Chevy or a 5.4 Ford.

Put the stock back on and u mite be shock that you get your lowend back and maybe gain a mpg , like others said nothing wrong with the stock air box , it does get its air from out side so it is a CAI..
