Haha We used to have one that we kept down at the lake house. Those were tough little buggers. I dont remember what all it had in it, but I doo remember it had orange **** carpet, and no top.
That thing wined like a hyrdrostatic tranny, but it never died. I loved that little scout.
Thanks for bringing that up, I might have to go look up who bought that and see if they want to sell...

My first love, a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury, 361 (yes, a "1"). Bought it for $400 shortly after I got my license in 1974 ... one of these days I'd like to get another just for memory's sake.

The pic is not of the actual car I owned, but it's an exact match save for the wheels (I had the Rallye Wheels with white letter tires) and the interior was black.

I had to sell it two years later, the new owner had it a week and wrapped it around a tree ...

Talking This a fun thread! Mine was a 73 Mercury Montego MX

My dad bought it off an old guy who thought when he was told to add kitty litter to the trunk for added weight/better traction in the winter, that he needed to OPEN the bags of litter and pour it into the trunk! Hahaha! What a mess...plus I killed our ShopVac cleaning that out. Next was a Buick Electra Limited...oh yah, what a cruisin' car. But the kicker was the 79 Volare that my dad came home with one day...my jaw just dropped. Not simply because it's butt-ugly and looked like a granny car/cop car, this thing had a history with me. You see, a few years earlier when I was only 15, I went riding with a bunch of friends and we were breaking all kinds of laws that night...I drove without a license, we were drinking (stupid I know), we were speeding, we were out past curfew, but then I noticed there were no KEYS in the ignition. My friend Mike said he'd "uhm, borrowed it" from his elderly aunt. So, in addition to all of my other infractions, we can add grand theft auto. We went to a lake party, Mike, the only one that knew how to start it without keys passed out and I had to be home at my friends before 5:00 a.m. when her dad woke up. We finally got it started, it died in town 3 blocks from where we needed to be and a cop stopped to see if we needed help....a car full of 5 drunk underage kids..a STOLEN car. OMG!! We pretended to be asleep and Mike was able to convince him he had it under control and the night ended uneventfully. Until 4 years later when my dad said he'd bought a "safe, sturdy" car for me to use while away at college and drove this thing home. I thought, "there's no way it could be the same car!" but he said he bought it from an estate auction of an old lady (Mike's Aunt) and sure enough, when I looked in the trunk there was still a bottle opener and two empty Budweiser bottles!! LOL! Karma DOES have a way of coming back to bite you in the butt. My dad had no idea the story behind that vehicle and I was stuck driving that "scarlet A" for the next 3 years, then he kept it til 1990, it mocked me. I finally told my dad a good 10 years later and he was NOT amused. See, I was thought to be a "good kid", never got into trouble but the truth is...I just never got caught!
Karma, baby!
