haha no they were real functional hoodpins. They were the type with the cables that hold the pins to the hood, not the slide type that the ricers use lol... I even removed the stock latch so I wouldn't forget to latch the pins

How hard is it to install hood pins , maybe if someone could give me some direction , cause My hood has poped up on me , but thankfully to the secandary latchs , and id like to put hood pins on it , cause it would look kinda cool on my truck since mines more of a street ride.

My mustang hood blew up on me once. It happened so fast I heard a bang and thought WTF was that? I looked over to the pass side and my hood was hanging next to my window. Busted my hood all to hell, broke the windshield, dented the roof, and scratched both fenders

Thanks for all the replies, but has anyone ever changed the spring hinges on one of these...or another type of vehicle with the same kind of hinges. I can find all sorts of info on replacing the hood, but no info on replacing the stock hinges.

Im telling you...give Dodge a call. That friend of my dads, bent his hood, broke the windshield, and the cowl in front of the windshield. Dodge fixed it all under a factory recall, since it was thier design flaw.

Kinda like all the plum crazy and panther pink cars back in 1970. They needed to use a different kind of primer than they did for the high impact paint. So, while driving down the road, some experienced the, paint lifting of the hood in one big sheet, phonomenon. Dodge called them all in, and repainted the whole car.

Check and see if they're still doing that for the trucks, though. Its just a phone call away

Nope not me. I'm so **** about the way may car looks I wouldn't install a set. The owner of the body shop has the only kind I would install. Unfortunately his hood is the only place I've seen them.

I told them at his shop "I want only them pins". When I went to pick the car up they had a normal set. Guy said they bought them but didn't think they were needed. I would have been so pissed if they would have installed them things.

OP I'll try to take a quick look. Once the hood is up the tension should be off the hinge. You should be able to remove the bolts and throw new ones on
