Default Loose gas pedal?

Hey!,
I am just wondering on this. I was driving home from class today and I noticed that when I tap my gas pedal it is loose for a light tap and press the pedal down. It takes a little more to press the gas pedal down and get the throttle to kick in. I its a slight give to it. I tap it and it feel the cable has a little slack feeling.
Its not that big of a deal, I still drive it normally I was just wondering...
1.) Is it common?
2.) Is it bad?
3.) Anyone has ran into it before?
4.) What can I do to tighten it?

Thanks in advance.

my mustang was like that........look where the pedal meets the cable and get piece of fuel line the same length, slit the line, put it on where the slack is and put some hose clamps around it......remember this will raise your pedal some too

May just need to adjust the throttle cable under the hood. It might have slipped from past years...

The good ol gas pedal mod. I mentioned that on here when I bought the truck. Nobody knew what I was talking about. I might try it on the Ram someday

The end of the throttle cable goes thru a black plastic piece where it attaches to the throttle body linkage. Grab the cable between your fingers just before the plastic piece and you'll be able to push the cable end away from the plastic piece and expose the ball on the end of the cable. Mine had about 3/8" extra cable, so I cinched 2 zip ties around the cable to take up the slack.
