Depends on how much you've changed on your truck, or how much you plan to change. There have been numerous discussions on this if you use the search option at the top.

If you've made a lot of changes, or are going to in the future, I personally HIGHLY recommend getting an SCT programmer from Hemifever@aol.com ! He is EXCELLENT to deal with and the SCT programmer has been one of the best decisions I've made for my truck!

Hey ron333, what kind of SCT Programmer do you have? I was always under the impression that the cool SCT tuners (3815 for example) were for 98-newer 5.9's?

Is there nothing for the earlier models?

His sig says he has an SCT Tuner, so hopefully he's got some insider info. :-)

I run a JET Chip in my 97, and its better than it was when it was stock, but its nothing to write home about. I thought that was the only option I had! haha

The sct tuner for our rams is the 9550 ( i have one too). The 3815 i believe is superchips tuner, also the year for the SCT is 96<=.

Yes, veeery big difference. Made all of my changes come to life. Gave the truck more ***** than i thought it would ever have. Killed the death flash, no more bogging and powerloss. Lil ping at WOT as it shifts down but its still good.
